It was established with the joint initiative of Kibar Holding, Turkish Airlines, and Turkish Technic Inc. TSI is authorized by the EASA and FAA to manufacture aviation seats, and the seats manufactured are used in the A320, A330, A350, B737, B777, and B787 aircraft series. It is also authorized by the PMA (Parts Manufacturing Authority) to manufacture spare parts for aviation seats and offers maintenance services with the Part 145 certification. TSI Uçak Koltuk Üretimi San. ve Tic. A.Ş. has two production lines, one in Istanbul and one in Utah, and carries out its design, engineering, production, and R&D activities internally.
As a result of the inspection conducted by the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), it received an ADOA (Alternative Procedures to Design Organisation Approval) in November 2012 and a POA (Production Organization Approval) in December 2013. It is authorized by the EASA and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to manufacture aviation seats. According to the agreement signed in November 2019, TSI Seats is entitled to be included in Airbus’ BFE (Buyer Furnished Equipment) catalog.
TSI continues to carry out its design, engineering, production, and R&D activities with its team of 130 people in its new facilities with a total area of 3,400 sq. meters and an annual seat manufacturing capacity of 36,000 pax at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Established by TSI for the aviation industry in the USA, TSI SEATS Inc. operates in Salt Lake City, Utah. TSI has completed the seat orders for 130 aircraft as of the end of 2019 and received firm orders for more than 200 aircraft to be delivered from 2020 to 2023.
