The company was founded under the umbrella of Kibar Group in 2011 with the aim of importing and wholesaling natural gas in the Turkish Energy Market. As part of the Western Line Contract transfer in 2012, Kibar Enerji took over the purchase and sale contract for 1 billion m3 of natural gas per year, and as of January 1, 2013, is entitled to import and wholesale natural gas. Kibar Enerji aims to become one of the most prominent actors in the Turkish Energy Market, which has become more liberal due to the involvement of the private sector.
Kibar Enerji’s mission includes contributing to fulfilling the country’s need for natural gas by procuring natural gas both domestically and from abroad, playing a role in creating a market for natural gas in line with the country’s interests, carrying out the necessary processes in order to store natural gas, taking advantage of the opportunities that will create supply safety and resource variety in the Turkish Energy Market, and taking action for new business and investment opportunities.
