As one of Turkey’s most comprehensive corporate volunteer projects, Kibar Volunteers are expanding their reach every year. Stating that they were proud of Kibar Volunteers, who add value to the future with their projects for education and children, Haluk Kayabaşı, CEO of Kibar Holding, stated “Nearly 700 Kibar Volunteers, who keep our founding principles and values alive and strive for our children, who are the guarantors of the future, lay the foundation for a more egalitarian and brighter future.” As one of Turkey’s leading manufacturing groups, Kibar Holding contributes to the national economy by creating added value, offering employment opportunities, and exporting to all over the world. Serving as a lever for the country’s industrial development with its value-added production approach and implementing successful practices at its industry-leading subsidiaries, Kibar Holding sets an example with its responsible approach to social issues. Formed to ensure the sustainability of the contribution that Kibar Holding has made to the society since its establishment, and to involve the employees in these activities, Kibar Volunteers continue to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children in its third year.

Reminding that Kibar Volunteers was set up with great enthusiasm, CEO Haluk Kayabaşı said, “Social responsibility is part of our Group’s corporate culture. The Kibar Volunteers Project, which we launched in November 2018 as a result of our consciousness, sense of responsibility, and awareness, aims to ensure the sustainability of our Group’s social responsibility projects, especially those implemented for education and children. We aimed to provide greater benefit, expand the scope of our projects, and ensure their regularity by integrating the individual volunteering activities of Kibar Group employees into the Group’s social responsibility activities. In line with this goal, we are expanding our reach every year. We have reached more than 6,000 children in two years with our projects. We will continue to take action for children, the guarantors of our future.”

Noting that they prioritized the fields of “Children” and “Education,” CEO Kayabaşı said, “Our volunteers select these fields themselves by participating in our survey. We aim to contribute to the increase in the number of modern primary schools and maximize the sociocultural awareness of students studying at these schools. We have supported several schools in Izmit, Tuzla, and Susurluk in this way. At these schools, we introduce contemporary careers, visit museums, go to the theatre to see plays, and organize author visits.

“We have recently opened the Chess and Brain-Training Games Workshop at Şehit Nusret Kula Primary School, which is located in Susurluk, Balikesir, and has 182 students. Our volunteers contributed to every step of the building of the workshop, from the painting of the workshop to the placement of desks in the classrooms. Our volunteers broke new ground in the region with this project. Last year, they broke new ground at Tuzla Mimar Sinan Primary School by making the school the first public school with 3 activity classrooms. These are just a few examples of our projects. This year, our goal is to expand our reach and support different regions as well.”

Kibar Volunteers is an umbrella organization consisting of nearly 700 employees of Kibar Holding and its subsidiaries.
