As one of the automotive investments of Kibar Group, Assan Hanil was founded in 1997 in partnership with South Korean Seoyon E-Hwa and started production as a main parts supplier in the automotive industry.
While Assan Hanil supplied parts only to Hyundai Assan in the first few years, it has become one of the most important suppliers of Ford Otosan as of 2005. Assan Hanil also undertook the production of the important parts of M2 Light Commercial Vehicle (H350), a joint project between Karsan and Hyundai Motor Company (HMC). In addition, it added Isuzu, Honda, Agco, Mercedes Benz Turkey, and Turkey's Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG) to its customer portfolio respectively.
In 2019, the company opened the Aksaray Plant to manufacture products for Mercedes Benz Turkey and the Gölcük Plant to manufacture products for Ford Otosan. Today, it manufactures products with more than 1,000 specialists by using automation-based high technology in a total area of 90,000 sq. meters in five facilities: three in Kocaeli, one in Bursa, and one in Aksaray.
Assan Hanil manufactures not only driver and passenger seats, but also door panels, front and rear bumpers, instrument panels, consoles, carpets, radiator carrier, blow molding parts, glove compartment, headliner, and interior and exterior plastic parts. It is one of 5 companies around the world that can design, develop, and manufacture air-suspension passenger seats.
Assan Hanil has certified its production quality with the ISO 9001-2015, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001-2013, OHSAS 18001, IATF 16949-2016, Ford Q1, Hyundai 4-Star Quality System, and Daimler OSA Category-1 certifications. It carries out innovative projects aiming at weight reduction, cost optimization, and quality enhancements in its R&D center established in 2010 with the incentive it received from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology. It has 45 registered Industrial Property Rights and 7 applications in the evaluation process.
TSI was established in 2011 by Turkish Airlines and Assan Hanil to design, manufacture, repair, and sell seats for all types of aircraft, and to provide spare parts for the relevant parts.
