Digital transformation is an ecosystem that includes the whole supply chain

Stating that digital transformation has been set as a strategic priority on the governmental level in developed countries, Gökhan Lokmanoğlu said “Governments are creating funds for digital transformation and determining goals with a project approach.” Emphasizing that they’re already past the point of smart factories that provide operational effectiveness and cost-efficiency, Gökhan Lokmanoğlu stated that digital transformation should be considered as an ecosystem that includes the entire supply chain. Gökhan Lokmanoğlu also explained that this ecosystem consists of autonomous and smart components, which is a dynamic structure with intensive networking on digital media. Highlighting that artificial intelligence and machine learning systems will be the standard-setters of tomorrow, Gökhan Lokmanoğlu said “Development is now taking place faster than ever. Transformation does not tolerate any delay. A disciplined and systematic approach, security risk evaluation and a competent workforce are now needed for success.”

Turkey’s largest outright flexible packaging investment

Also mentioning the digital transformation and Industry 4.0 activities of the Kibar Group companies in his speech, Gökhan Lokmanoğlu said, “Our company İspak Esnek Ambalaj has made an investment at the Asım Kibar Organized Industrial Zone. These new facilities, which will hopefully be an example for the best Industry 4.0 practices, will triple the capacity of İspak and make our company one of the largest packaging firms in Europe. With these facilities, which make up Turkey’s largest outright flexible packaging investment, we are planning an addition of 75 million Euros to our group’s exports.”

“We are one of the top 3 manufacturers in Europe”

Highlighting that Assan Alüminyum, which is becoming more efficient each year with a bigger capacity, is one of the top 3 manufacturers in Europe with an annual aluminum foil production capacity of 80 thousand tons; Gökhan Lokmanoğlu said, “We have a new foil rolling mill that is high speed and has an advanced automation system. Especially thanks to these new investments in packaging, we are planning to increase our foil capacity to 110,000 tons per year. After the first phase is completed, we will also work on a few more investments, such as extra foil capacity and a cold rolling mill that can manufacture thin products.”

Expressing that “innovation” and technological transformation will continue to guide Kibar Holding to break new grounds and have an impact on the Group culture in the upcoming period as well, Gökhan Lokmanoğlu said, “Our plan is to become an exemplary company in the area of Industry 4.0 that has a concrete project to talk about rather than just ideas about possibilities three years from now.”
