Sustainability in Kibar Group

The foundation of Kibar Holding's sustainability approach is based on founder and honorary president Asım Kibar's principles of honesty and reliability that the Group defines as its core values. Kibar Group's business culture is based on its deep-rooted corporate governance tradition, innovative approach, business ethics, social responsibility culture and the sustainability approach shaped in line with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

Adopting the Global Compact, Kibar Group offers its employees a fair and equal work environment, where human rights are protected, occupational health and safety is given priority, professional development is supported.

In Kibar Group, human rights are guaranteed in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Global Compact and the provisions promulgated by national and international legislation. All kinds of discrimination, child labor, forced and compulsory labor practices are prevented. Group companies expect suppliers and business partners to meet similar working norms, follow their practices in this area and contribute to the realization of conditions.

In Kibar Holding, environmental issues are managed in accordance with national and international standards. The majority of Kibar Group companies have ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification. All of the companies have specialized units in the field of environmental management and work is carried out to increase the environmental awareness of the employees.

In all of its operations, Kibar Group companies are obliged to comply with the principles of the Global Compact, which are based on the development of global and sustainable social responsibility awareness in the business world and the policies and strategies determined by Kibar Holding in line with these principles.

We Are A Signatory Of The Women’s Empowerment Principles!

One of the foremost global initiatives of the private sector is the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) platform, which aims for women’s empowerment in order to ensure that women are included in economic life in all business sectors and at all levels. This platform, of which we are also one of the signatories, was established with the partnership of the UN Global Compact and UN Women.

The Women’s Empowerment Principles require that the leaders of the business world be explicitly committed to the principles intended to create corporate policies to improve gender equality.

With the signature of Haluk Kayabaşı, our CEO, we have participated in the WEPs platform consisting of 7 basic principles. These principles are as follows:

Treating all women and men fairly in professional life, respecting and supporting human rights and non-discrimination,

Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all women and men workers,

Principle 4

Promoting equality through community initiatives and advocacy,

Measuring and publicly reporting on progress to achieve gender equality,

WE ensure the protection of human rights based on the provisions published by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the United Nations Global Compact as well as national and international legislation. We preclude gender inequality and any form of discrimination. We expect all of our stakeholders, particularly our suppliers and business partners, to meet the norms of similar efforts; we follow up their practices in this regard and contribute to this cause to meet the conditions.

We keep on implementing practices to promote and empower the employment of women employees.

Among others, “Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities” are included in 12 sustainability priorities as defined in the “2025 Sustainability Strategy” of our Group. We follow up our goals such as increasing the number of women employees and the number of women senior executives, and ensuring full and active participation of women in decision-making processes (Goals G7, G8, and G9) based on 6 performance indicators and publicly share such goals for transparency purposes.

Haluk Kayabaşı, our CEO and the President of Sustainability Committee, is listed in the “50 Sustainability Leaders” of Turkey within the scope of ensuring the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development including “Gender Equality”.

We continue contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals consisting of “No poverty”, “Healthy individuals”, “Quality education”, “Gender equality”, “Clean water and sanitation”, “Affordable and Clean Energy”, “Decent work and economic growth”, “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”, “Reduced inequalities”, “Sustainable cities and communities”, “Responsible Consumption and Production”, “Climate Action”, “Life Below Water”, “Life on Land”, “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions”, and “Partnerships for the Goals”.
