In the scope of the activities of the Occupational Health and Safety Week, which has been organized for the 35th time by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, "the Powerful Communication, Safe Workplace Good Practice Contest" has been held. Kibar Holding, one of the leading industrial organizations of Turkey, has been granted the grand prize for their project titled "Hep Beraber Yaşam Güvenliği" ("Working All Together for Life Safety").
In order to prevent occupational accidents, to prioritize employee health and safety, and to raise awareness among employees and employers in this scope, the Occupational Health and Safety Week is celebrated annually between the dates of May 4 and 10 with the activities organized by the Ministry and various organizations. In the scope of the Occupational Health and Safety Week, which has been held for the 35th time this year by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, a series of activities have been organized. The award ceremony of "the Powerful Communication, Safe Workplace Good Practice Contest" has been held online due to the pandemic and attended by Vedat Bilgin, the Minister of Labor and Social Security. At "the Powerful Communication, Safe Workplace Good Practice Contest", which is organized by the Ministry, Kibar Holding, one of the leading industrial groups of Turkey, has been granted the grand prize. Haluk Kayabaşı, the CEO of Kibar Holding, has made a statement on this achievement as follows: "Throughout our history that dates back to almost half a century ago and since the very first day of our establishment, all the activities of Kibar Group has evolved around health and life safety. The ones working on the unique project of Kibar Holding that raises awareness have shown equal participation in the process. In the companies of Kibar Group, annual workshops that are attended by occupational health and safety professionals are held. While reviewing the previous year, a collaborative work is carried out on the planning for the next year, field visits are organized, the planning for Occupational Health and Safety Week activities and the Occupational Health contest is performed. The group companies organize well-attended quizzes within the group. The winners of these quizzes compete in the contest at the next higher level to be organized throughout the Group and the winning employees are awarded. In this way, both the culture of learning from each other is supported, and the motivation is provided. Moreover, awareness is raised by allowing the continuous update of knowledge.
